trygias-webDry White Wine – PGI Imathia

This outstanding dry white wine is produced from black grapes of the Xinomavro variety which is cultivated in the appellation zone of Naoussa.

The careful pressing of the grapes permits the collection of a small quantity of juice that issues from the inner white flesh, the juice then stored in new French oak barrels, where fermentation takes place at a controlled low temperature.

The wine remains in the barrels until it is fully matured. The result is a full-bodied wine, rich in aromatic scents which are harmoniously combined with its natural bouquet and the delicate scent of wood.

Special characteristics: A unique wine which demonstrates the potential of Xinomavro to yield white wines of real character. Golden colour. Complex bouquet which combines Xinomavro’s aromas from fruit and white flowers with the aromas of the barrel (honey, nuts, coffee, chocolate and smoke.)

Full-bodied with peppery notes in the mouth and a long finish. One of the few Greek white wines that will repay bottle-aging.

Serving suggestions: Baked fish and fish with a white sauce. Also excellent with game.
Best served at 10-12°C.
