It is produced from the well known northern Greek red variety of Xinomavro and the French variety of Merlot.
The grapes are sourced from the mountain slopes where the microclimate is suitable for the cultivation on both varieties.
The vinification of each variety is made separately and they are blended together prior to aging in French oak barrels.
A worthy aged wine, combining Xinomavro's sturdy character with the soft finesse and rich colour of Merlot.
Special Characteristics
- Intense deep red colour.
- The spices red fruit and woody aromas of Xinomavro, dominate the nose.
- Smooth and full-boded, will repay further aging.
Best with:
Grilled meats, beef with red sauces. Spices dishes.
Serve at 16-18oC.
Specific suggestion: Beef with mushroom sauce.
