It is produced exclusively from a single vineyard of 1.5 acres situated in the Karaoutsa area of Nea Strantza.
The vineyard lies at an altitude of 200 metres on sandy loam soil which is most suitable for bringing out all the aroma of the Xinoamvro variety.
The wine is aged for one year in French oak barrels and for at least a further year in bottle thus ensuring the full development of its rich bouquet.
Special characteristics
- Well-developed colour.
- Rich bouquet of red fruits, spices and good wood.
- Ripe tannins, will repay further aging.
Best with:
Roasted meats and meats with red sauces. Yellow cheeses.
Serve at 18oC.
Specific suggestion: Baked lamb with spring onions.
